Are Your Skin Products Toxic?

  • September 9, 2012

Many brands try to paint themselves as a natural product, but once you read the label you realize that may not be the case. For example, If you see any of the following ingrediants, Methyl, Propyl, Butyl and Ethyl; one can assume, this is not a “natural” product. Each of the prior ingredients is considered a paraben, which can cause many forms of skin irritation, including acne.

To save you the trouble of learning the many toxic ingrediants in skin products you can search the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep database for your prodcuts to see their level of toxicity. Aim for something in the 0-3 range, as those products are only mildly toxic.
